Event Name:	Tree Planting, Ahwahnee Hills Park
Purpose:	Beautification, Reforestation, Shade & Pollution Mitigation– planting 250 trees (varieties in attached document)
Key Partners:	PG & E, Tree Fresno, California ReLeaf, California Urban Forests Council, U.S. Forest Service, Cal Fire, United Voices for Healthier Communities, Friends of Ahwahnee Park, DriWater, Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce, Provost and Pritchard Consulting Group, Oakhurst Sierra Rotary
Event Date and Time:	Friday, October 22, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. – Volunteers Arrive
Event Location:	Enter Ahwahnee Hills Park at the lower gate – near Wasuma Elementary School 43109 Highway 49, Ahwahnee, CA  93601  (Park in lot near baseball field)
Item of Special Interest:	Planting sites are throughout the park, most trees are native to the region, we will also plant shade trees near the new Oakhurst Sierra Rotary Soccer Field in the park.

Program Description and Agenda

Program:

Event organized by Friends of Ahwahnee Hills Park, Tree Fresno and California Urban Forest Council, and funded by ARRA funds that are administered by California ReLeaf. Tree Fresno volunteer recruitment, organization, planting demo, tools (shovels, stake pounders, hammers, rakes), tree delivery and fertilizer for trees. Ahwahnee Hills to provide volunteers, site preparation, irrigation system, refreshments  California Urban Forest Council, 250 trees, stakes, ties and nails.
